Would love a RW, but I could get behind a deal like this. I'll probably get blasted for this, but I think Ruhwedel is outplaying Schultz

Honest question...what are the Rangers realistically going to get for Kreider?

Honestly can we set the bar any lower? Sheary? Ennis? Thornton? Haula? How would this team be any different than the team that got swept by NYI last year? Enough of this BS. Go for a good player who will move the needle. These other guys will just take up space.

I stand by my belief that if this team is fully healthy they are tough to beat. We know Jake won’t be back, Dumo is progressing but how far, I guess Marino may be closer, and the list of O that are a mystery...maybe a Kreider isn’t a horrible idea?

I dont see how we could go out and get a "big" acquisition pickup, we already got one of those, and used our last assets to do so.

I dont see Rutherford trading Pierre-Joseph, Poulin, or Legare. I dont see any other of our prospects commanding good trade value. I dont see Rutherford trading next year picks, and I dont see him trading any roster player. maybe Bjugstad... but I would hope Rutherford can see a deal in the summer would be smarter.

So I dont see what we have to trade besides Rounds 3-6 draft picks. maybe you score some depth late in the day with one of those picks just because a team is trying to dump their player at the last minute... but I would expect a lot of talk about the Penguins tomorrow with a solid deal potentially. Nothing eye opening or big, but a move that could pay dividends later in the season.

And he's about 3/4 at best the player Guentzel is. So if that was the big "get," then just sit this year out.

We dont have the assets to get Kreider.

And thinking about Jake's time table... he could be back for the playoffs, even at some point in Round 1.

The last regular season game is April 4th. Jake's 4-6 month time frame started around December 30th meaning his recovery time would bring us to around April 1st being the 4 month mark.

That is unfortunately best case scenario, and I know shoulder injuries can be unpredictable, especially given how much of beating they take in the playoffs... but if the Penguins can get through Round 1, and I think they can... I dont see why Jake couldnt be back for Round 2 when we would arguably really need him.

The team with the 4th best record in hockey should just sit this year out? Smart idea

This is why I suggested getting a player like Suter. Just for taking on that contract, even with some or half salary retained, we could probably send them some of our garbage like JJ and Bjug who will have virtually no affect on their rebuild. We could sweeten with a non-1st round draft pick and maybe a B prospect.

Suter isnt the problem in Minnesota right now. Parise and his contract is. Minnesota is still getting good value out of Suter and will do so for the next couple of years. They arent just going to give you Ryan Suter because they dont want to pay him in a couple of years much less for our garbage.

Guentzel isn't replaceable. You'd have to trade away the entire 2021 draft and two top prospects to get a player of his caliber back at this point.

Yah, considering what they did today to the caps without Dumo and Marino I think this team is pretty damn good. Really damn good actually. If they can get both those defenders back, Kahun, and make a solid depth trade they will be more than fine.

The "team" that got swept by the Islanders last year was not a team, it was a disinterested group of good players. You've surely finished your bottle of whiskey by now.

No, you don't get it, we're toast. I know a pack of dogs better than this group of players.
